While the new look-and-feel for Google+ debuted late in 2015, it has been optional for users since that time. As August 2016 draws to a close, the new Google+ is now becoming the default Google+ experience.

Along with the move to Google’s Material Design user interface, Google+ has been streamlined to focus on communities, which have been in use in Maine Township High School District 207 for many years. Hangouts has been moved completely out of Google+ to its own product, and Hangouts on Air has been moved to YouTube, where it has technically been located for many year.

Ongoing learning is critical for all modern organizations, and for decades it has been clear that the best schools are ones in which teachers collaborate and learn focused around a common mission. Today, we can do this work both in-person and online via tools like Google+ and Twitter as we cultivate our Personal Learning Networks.
